Michael James Nelson is a comedy writer/performer who was a writer on “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers” on NBC and a writer for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. He has also been featured on Will Ferrell’s website “Funny or Die” over a dozen times and has appeared in exclusive sketches alongside Don Cheadle, Ray Romano, Cedric “The Entertainer”, George Lopez, Cheech Marin, Matthew Morrison, Rob Riggle, and many more.
Michael also wrote and starred in a CBS hidden camera pilot hosted by Jay Mohr and he has written MTV promos starring Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Jason Bateman, Melissa McCarthy, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, the cast of American Reunion, and many more.
In 2012, Michael performed in Comedy Central’s “Comics to Watch Showcase” in Los Angeles. Michael also trained in improvisation and sketch comedy at The Groundlings, IO West, and he is currently in the advanced improvisation program at the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles. He is a member of the sketch group “Lost Friends” that performs regularly at the Comedy Central Stage in Los Angeles.
